Jean Monnet Chair – Research focused on

“European Integration and Implementation of EU fundamental values in Georgia”

Jean Monet’s research activities are focused on the study of the core values of the European Union: democracy, rule of law and human rights. The Jean Monnet Chair studies Georgia’s obligations under the Association Agreement with the European Union. Georgia must ensure and uphold common European values, promote democracy and the rule of law, good governance, human rights and fundamental freedoms, enhance the independence of the judiciary, access to justice and the right to a fair trial, effective fight against human trafficking, money laundering, organized crime and corruption, preventing and actively combating illicit drug trafficking, securing personal data and preventing financing of terrorism, personal data protection and more. Thus, the Jean Monnet Chair studies and analyzes Georgia’s achievements in these areas in the context of European integration.

Jean Monnet blogs on European Union are published by chair holder, other invited professors, experts, students related to the constitutional law of European Union, Human Rights, Rule of Law, and other topics on Georgian European integration process. Blogs are published periodically, at least once during two month.
